Workshop Scholarships

Through the generous support of donors, the American Recorder Society awards scholarships for weekend and week-long recorder workshops, most of which occur in the summer. A weekend workshop is any workshop lasting four days or less -- this includes one-day classes. Any ARS member needing financial assistance to attend a workshop, whether in person or virtual, may apply. If you would like to apply but aren't a member, feel free to utilize our half-price special and pay only $27.50 for the first year. Join Now!

The ARS maintains its long tradition of helping people dedicated to the recorder and its music.

Our financial support gives individuals interested in learning and developing recorder skills the opportunity to attend workshops and to interact with other recorder players. Any member, regardless of playing ability, who would like to attend a workshop and could use some financial assistance is eligible to apply. You need not provide proof of financial need.

Deadline
Week-long workshops: the deadline is May 15. Scholarships can be used for online/virtual workshops at an amount necessary for the online format, not to exceed $600.

Weekend workshops or one-day classes: Applications are accepted at any time. Effort should be made to apply at least four weeks before funding is needed.
