The Arizona Central Highlands Recorder Society (above) played a selection of familiar tunes and Irish music for about 30 residents of the Prescott (AZ) Samaritan Village Nursing Home. Residents sang along and played rhythm instruments (below). Members of the society provided commentary on the history and other interesting facts about the recorder. In keeping with the St. Patrick's Day theme, members wore green T-shirts and festive hats.

The Shenandoah Recorder Society (below) hosted a Recorder Play-In with special guests, the American Recorder Society Board of Directors. The board was holding its spring meeting in Charlottesville, Va. The Shenandoah Recorder Society also sponsored two dinners at local restaurants and played at local schools during the month.

The Denver Chapter's mall concert also featured two school groups (below), the chapter's Jazz Ensemble in period costume, and the chapter's Renaissance Band.

The Highland Park (NJ) Recorder Society held four events in conjunction with Play the Recorder Month, including a performance by the society's recorder ensemble at the New Jersey Veterans' Memorial Home (above). The society's chamber orchestra also held two concerts in collaboration with the Zorzal Music Ensemble at a church (below) and a synagogue. An outreach duo from the society performed a St. Patrick's Day concert at a school in Elizabeth, NJ.

The Dallas Chapter performed for guests at a Play the Recorder Day open house in a newly constructed home (below).

The Twin Cities Recorder Guild celebrated Play the Recorder Day with a concert in the atrium of the new Minneapolis Central Library (below).
