Set of Ture Bergstrom Renaissance Recorders
These recorders are pitched at A=440, use renaissance fingerings, and soundwonderful. Some instruments have small cosmetic blemishes, but all play amazingly well. The sub bass has one key and requires large hands.

American Recorder Society Editions(click on images for larger view)
Do you have a stash of recorder music dating back 1950-1980's? You might have some old American Recorder Society Editions. We would like to preserve these editions for posterity.
The first twelve titles were published from 1951-1953 by Clarke and Way and distributedby Peripole.

AMP "Associated Music Publishers" became the publisher and distributor with No. 13 in April 1954. They published an additional twenty-seven titles through the early 60's. All of these editions were edited by Erich Katz.
In 1962, Joel Newman became the next editor and Galaxy Music Corporation (which became E.C. Schirmer Music Co.) the next publisher. An additional thirty-three titles were published.
If you have any of these older ARS Editions and would like to find a good home for them, please mail them to me, Kathy Sherrick, at the ARS office (1129 Ruth Dr., Saint Louis, MO 63122-1019).
PROFESSIONAL, IMPROVISING RECORDER PLAYER WANTED to play scores for silent films with HESPERUS
Must be able to:
* Play selected dance tunes by Susato, Arbeau, Phalèse, etc. by ear and improvise ornaments and counter melodies according to the underlying harmony.
*Play lead on Tandernaken, Estampie Isabella and one or two other recorder features.
*Improvise comfortably over chord patterns such as the romanesca, and over a drone in various modes.
*Play music looking at the screen and responding to the changing moods of the film, remaining in mood and tempo unless the scene calls for acceleration or ritard, in visual contact with the other players.
Music list and scores available upon request.
CAVEATS:
*Memorizing written ornaments and countermelodies is a good start, but the job requires actual, spontaneous new improvisations.
*Keeping strictly in rhythm, and staying in visual contact with the other players, are essential.
*Skill on secondary instruments (shawms, pipe and tabor, plucked or bowed strings, or voice) is a plus.
Please contact Tina Chancey tinachancey@cs.com, with questions.
